- This role will serve as leader of the team of contract managers within the Legal department that supports Agency customers within the Travel Solutions business unit, and will have the following responsibilities:
- Utilizes strategic insights and organization-wide perspectives to guide the day-to-day prioritization and direction of the deals and projects for which the team is responsible
- Coaches and develops team members not only in legal matters but also in leadership and business acumen; focuses on continuous improvement and building future organizational leaders
- (As a working manager) Independently and accurately Interprets complex business needs and translates them into clear and concise contract language and business system requirements
- (As a working manager) Responsible for drafting and negotiating non-standard agreements
- Supports the creation and maintenance of best practices as well as legal and organizational processes
- Acts as a liaison between a broad set of stakeholder teams, both internal and external, to collaborate, coach and resolve challenging issues that have wide ranging legal, technical, and operational implications; applies robust discernment regarding when and how to engage legal, security and intellectual property resources
- Supervises and provides broad based legal support services to management and in-house counsel in the form of coordinating and conducting legal research (including discovery requests)
- Drives the contract workstreams associated with cross-functional business projects and special programs, including drafting amendments, reviewing business communications, and aiding internal systems support and maintenance
- This role reports directly to the Director of Commercial Contracts.
- Minimum of 4-6 years of relevant contract management or legal experience (including leadership experience)
- Advanced level of English both verbal and written
- Ability to work autonomously; self-starter who takes ownership of results and is able to juggle a wide range of priorities, including projects beyond core responsibilities
- Fast learner; capable of tactfully and diligently navigating business challenges where the solution is unclear
- Superior command of English and Spanish languages, both written and spoken word (other language skills are a plus); able to problem solve with words; writes in a manner that is concise and conveys intended meaning
- Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical skills; capable of tying together complex ideas and assessing financial models
- Demonstrates an enterprise mindset while being able to focus on details; ensures their work supports the needs of the broader business while minimizing risk
- Experience in a fast-paced, global organization; willing to be flexible and able to function with ambiguity; comfortable navigating change; exhibits robust and resourceful problem-solving skills
- Experience writing business and legal specifications/requirements and communicating effectively with technical staff to ensure successful system development, specifically with regards to CPQ and CLM tools
- Exceptional relationship building and communication skills; works openly and collaboratively
- Possesses outstanding skills in MS Office suite; willing and able to learn new tool sets
