Sabre is seeking a skilled and motivated licensed attorney to support and guide our Montevideo office, which employs over 850 people. The successful candidate should be a generalist with deep knowledge of Uruguay law and will be responsible for providing legal advice to the organization on general employment, corporate and commercial law, regulatory, immigration law, litigation, data privacy, intellectual property, trade secrets, and other areas specific to the technology industry. The position will report to Sabre’s SVP – Deputy General Counsel. This role will provide ancillary support to the Compliance & Ethics function in the region, as well as employment matters in the region.This is a hybrid role based out of the Zonamerica office in Montevideo.Role and Responsibilities:Provide advice to management and Human Resources on employment matters.Advise on contractual and commercial matters and legal issues involving governmental and regulatory law.Guide and support lines of business on legal and regulatory requirements.Provide general corporate governance support, including corporate maintenance requirements and preparation of powers of attorney.Respond to ad hoc queries to include identification, analysis, and evaluation of risks to provide appropriate legal solutions.Work closely with other attorneys throughout Sabre and coordinate legal matters handled by outside counsel.Work with the regional and global Compliance & Ethics teams to identify common concerns, establish common standards and educate on best practices in the region.Collaborate with the Legal Department, Internal Audit, and Human Resources as appropriate, to investigate allegations of unethical behavior or other violation of Sabre policies, recommend appropriate disciplinary and/or remedial measures, and ensure such measures are promptly implemented.Other responsibilities as assigned.Qualifications and Education Requirements:Legal degree from a top institution.Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdictionMinimum of 8 years of legal experience, preferably in a combination of global law firm and in-house environments.Deep knowledge of Uruguay law and experience in employment and general corporate law, as well as regulatory law.Strong leadership presence and the ability to quickly gain the confidence of business clients.Maturity and strong leadership skills with the capacity to provide direction and influence co-workers.Practical and creative problem analysis and resolution skills.Excellent organizational skills and the ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks and prioritize work as needed to meet business needs.A high level of self-motivation and commitment to client service, including the ability to work as part of a small, dedicated team of Compliance & Ethics personnel.Responsive to the needs and questions from internal business and human resources clients.Fluency in English (written and spoken) required.Experience in the technology industry is a plus.Knowledge and/or experience with corporate, employment, and/or regulatory law in other South American countries is a plus.Total Rewards/Benefits:Work in modern Zonamerica campus alongside all the amenities it has to offer!Annual Performance bonus plansDevelopment opportunities in country or globallyWe offer a competitive private health insurance for employees and eligible childrenExtra Paid Time Off (5 extra days each year)3 month paid parental leave (12 weeks for fathers/ 18 weeks for mothers) plus up to 1 year maternity shiftsDaily meal allowanceLife InsuranceCorporate Social Responsibility opportunitiesRecognition and acknowledgement programsFun employee engagement and development eventsWe will give careful consideration to your application and review your details against the position criteria.
